LBAS Finishes8C-check for Spanish Customer on Time

 LBAS, the joint venture of Lufthansa Technik, Bombardier and ExecuJet, has completed the first major overhaul event for a Bombardier Global Express in Europe, a so called 8C-Check, for a Spanish customer.
LBAS, based in Berlin and a specialist for maintenance and overhaul services for Bombardier Business Aircraft, was able to deliver the Global Express after an eight- week layover and a subsequent uneventful acceptance flight. The 8C-check is the biggest regular maintenance event required for Bombardier's flagship. It is due after ten years of flight operations and is comparable to the D-check for large commercial aircraft. The scope of work includes the dismantling of the complete VIP cabin, the major overhaul of the landing gears and extensive structure and system inspections, as well as modifications.
Juan Pou, technical director of the customer, a worldwide operating Spanish hotel group, said: "We are very satisfied that LBAS performed these services. We were aware that our tight schedule and the fact that nobody had performed this inspection in Europe before contained a high risk. But when selecting our maintenance provider we relied on our long lasting and good experience with LBAS and have not been disappointed."
