EMS Sky Connect is showcasing its Forté AirMail service during the National Business Aircraft Association convention.

The Forté AirMail service uses the Iridium network to provide e-mail access to any WiFi-enabled smartphone or PDA in Exhibit 4489. "There's no reason to leave behind the normal modes of wireless connectivity just because you are in an airplane," said Wiley Loughran, EMS Sky Connect's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "The ability to stay connected is integral to doing business, and the Forté AirMail capability gives you the option to maintain e-mail capability in the air."

Up to ten users can send and receive emails at the same time. As Iridium has a very narrow bandwidth, Web access can be blocked - but that is up to the customer. Connecting PCs or netbooks will not be supported as they consume too much bandwidth.
