Aviation News Item: 08759 18th May 2010 P&W 'on target' with CSeries engine tests Source: ubmaviationnews.com Pratt & Whitney (P&W) has completed more than 100 test hours of the engine core for the PW1000G geared turbofan (GTF). The company said the programme was "on target" for testing of the complete engine for Bombardier's CSeries "later this summer". These tests would then be followed by the first runs of the version for the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ), which will have a smaller fan size. "We are extremely pleased with the core test results indicating that the overall engine performance is well aligned with expectations," said Paul Adams, SVP Engineering. |
