Royal Jet Reports Strong Growth

At their press conference at the Dubai Air Show, Royal Jet President & CEO Shane O'Hare reported that the company had seen solid growth over the past year, beating its own forecasts despite the global economic downturn.
Speaking at the Dubai Air Show, O'Hare said that the Abu Dhabi-headquartered executive flight services company's business has grown in a declining market. "Other aspects of the business including our brokerage service, aircraft management, medical evacuation services, Saudi initiatives and Fixed Base Operations are all making significant contributions to the financial health of the company," he said.
The company has also embarked on a refurbishment and upgrade of its five Boeing Business Jets at a cost of some $50 million.
"In summary, 2009 has been an excellent year for us," he said. "But there is yet more to look forward to next year beginning with work on a major new maintenance facility to be built at Abu Dhabi International Airport. This will have a full MRO capability, so we will be able to undertake third-party maintenance. We expect this to be operational at the start of 2011."
Shane O'Hare also said that Royal Jet had been working closely with Abu Dhabi Airport Company on a major new presence at Al Bateen Executive Airport, and would hope to be able to make an announcement on that in the first few months of the coming year.
