Aviation News Item: 07779 26th Apr 2010 GAA wins BHD4.8m training contract for Gulf Technics staff Source: ubmaviationnews.com Gulf Technics (GT), the Bahraini investment authority Tamkeen, and Gulf Aviation Academy (GAA) signed a BHD4.8m ($12.7m) agreement for the training of 100 local engineers and 250 technicians yesterday (April 25). Gulf Technics will employ the staff to operate a new hanger at Bahrain International Airport. Construction works are scheduled to begin later this year and are due to be completed within the next two to three years. Tamkeen will finance the training programme. The contract falls under an earlier MoU between Tamkeen and GAA to train 1,200 Bahrainis in the field of aviation, including pilots, cabin crew, engineers and technicians. |
