Aviation News Item: 00703 2nd Jun 2009 FAA sends inspectors to Abaris for composite training Source: ubmaviationnews.com The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has signed a one-year contract with Nevada-based Abaris Training to train FAA safety inspectors in advanced composite maintenance and repair. The inspectors are to learn basic principles of advanced composite structures to help them determine reliability of major composite repairs in the field and monitor maintenance activities. One key component of the class is familiarisation with methods used to detect hidden damage in composite structures. |
