Aviation News Item: 00698 3rd Jun 2009 Emirates inks fleet management deal with Engine Alliance Source: ubmaviationnews.com Emirates and Engine Alliance have now signed the fleet management agreement for GP7200 engine MRO services, which was first announced in November 2007 at the Dubai Air Show. The deal for the A380 engine service is valued at more than $3bn over the life of the contract. It will utilise the MRO capabilities of GE Aviation and Pratt & Whitney as well as other MRO facilities in its support network, including the airline's facilities in Dubai. With 58 A380s and more than 250 GP7200 engines on order, the carrier is to operate the largest A380 fleet in the world. |
