Lufthansa (LH) subsidiary Germanwings has signed a five-year agreement with Lufthansa Systems for the use of "Lido Operations Center" (Lido OC) flight planning software, which promises fuel savings of up to five per cent. The system uses its own aeronautical database to calculate an optimal route for each flight. It takes all relevant information into account, including weather data and current aeronautical restrictions, and also generates flight briefing documents.
