AeroMechanical Services has signed an agreement with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to provide services and equipment to establish a state-of-the-art Operations Control Center in Lagos, Nigeria. The facility will be used to provide real-time tracking of all civilian registered aircraft in Nigerian airspace and will mandate that all such aircraft be equipped with equipment such as AMA's (Automated Flight Information Reporting System) product line to provide flight watch capabilities to the NCAA. The contract is valued at $280,948 with the potential for more centers to be set up in the future. AMA is pleased to help improve the safety of flights in Nigerian airspace. Dr. Harold Demuren, director general of NCAA said "AMA has the people to help build state-of-the-art solutions for Nigeria. This initiative is part of our resolve to remain at the forefront of promoting aviation safety in Africa. The solutions being provided by AMA will allow us to improve safety and efficiency around our aviation infrastructure." The Canadian firm provides proprietary technological solutions and services designed to reduce costs and improve efficiencies in the aviation industry. The company has successfully commercialized three products and associated services currently marketed to airlines, manufacturers and maintenance organizations around the world. Its products---afirs UpTime, FLYHTStream and FIRST---allow airlines to monitor and manage aircraft operations anywhere, anytime, in real-time.
