Cessna has made 44 per cent of its workforce redundant over the last eight months, and now the company has said it will announce further cuts by June 19. How many jobs are at their disposal in the next round of layoffs has not been released. The Textron subsidiary cut its 15,500-strong workforce (November 2008) by 6,900 in an attempt to improve its financial performance in the face of the contracting general and business aviation market; the most recent 2,300 redundancies were announced in April.
