Aviation News Item: 00670 11th Jun 2009 LTAI's jobs under new threat Source: ubmaviationnews.com Lufthansa Technik's (LHT) Dublin-based engine MRO subsidiary, Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland (LTAI), has warned that it will put its estimated 450-strong workforce on protective notice from Monday if a recent agreement between the company and its staff is not implemented as planned. A small number of LTAI employees have reportedly said they would not support certain overtime work regulations in the agreement. Union representatives and the company's management are to meet today to settle the dispute. Mary Coughlan, the Irish Republic's deputy prime minister and minister for enterprise, trade and employment, released a statement saying: "it would be most regrettable if the actions of a small few jeopardise the jobs of so many in this highly skilled sector." |
