Air France Industries (AFI) and Royal Air Maroc (RAM) have signed an agreement to create a maintenance JV at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport. The planned two-bay A320-family aircraft facility will be equally owned by both companies and managed jointly. The French MRO provider has also signed an agreement with Safran subsidiary Aircell to build an engine nacelle maintenance centre at Dubai's Jebel Ali Free Zone. The 50:50 JV is to service nacelles for Rolls-Royce, GE CFM International and Pratt &Whitney engines on A320, A330, A340-500/600, A380 and 777 aircraft. Operations are expected to begin at the end of 2009.
