AIRBUS SETS SIGHTS ON BIG MARKET FOR BIG JETS

Source: bartintl.com

Airbus forecasts a market for 5-10 large corporate jets a year in the Middle East - the majority of them in Saudi Arabia - to replace existing aircraft and provide for growth. It is well placed to win at least half of this market, because it has the world's most modern corporate jet family.
Like the rest of the world, the Middle East market is driven by economic growth and, with oil-based economies in the region continuing to prosper, prospects for growth in the region remain bright.
The Middle East is the world's largest market for large corporate jets - aircraft with seating 15 or more passengers - with private customers and governments currently operating around 200 of them.
"We already have a strong presence in the Middle East, where more than 80 Airbus corporate jets are already on order and in service, and our young and growing aircraft family means that we are well placed to grow further," says Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers, John Leahy.
Most private jet customers are looking to extend into the air the comfort and space that they already enjoy at home or in the office and, with wider, taller cabins than competing aircraft, Airbus is well placed as the new top-end of the business jet market.
Airbus corporate jets range in size from the A318 Elite, which can fly up to 18 passengers over intercontinental distances, all the way up to the double-deck A380 Prestige, which can fly more than 100 in comfort and style non-stop to the world.
"We have the comfort you want in the size that you need, and are well placed to provide you with the means for a new travel style to which you will want to become accustomed," enthuses John Leahy.
