Aviation News Item: 00638 18th Jun 2009 Alenia and MAE to establish ATR maintenance centre Source: ubmaviationnews.com Italy's largest aerospace company Alenia Aeronautica and MAS Aerospace Engineering (MAE), the maintenance subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, have sealed an agreement to create a JV for ATR aircraft MRO services. The new company, MAS-Alenia Aeronautica Aerospace Engineering (MAAE) is 51 per cent owned by MAE and 49 per cent by Alenia Aeronautica. The company's headquarters will be in Malaysia. The JV agreement is related to the earlier order of 20 ATR 72-500s, plus an option of seven by Firefly and MASwings. |
