Aviation News Item: 00636 18th Jun 2009 WestJet Signs $850m engine MRO deal with GE Source: ubmaviationnews.com Canadian low cost carrier WestJet has signed a 12-year OnPoint agreement valued at more than $850million with GE Aviation. The contract covers CFM56-7 MRO services for the LCC's fleet of 79 737NG aircraft. Work will be conducted at the StandardAero plant in Winnipeg. The OEM and MRO provider have completed a material and licensing agreement in connection with the WestJet contract, whereby GE Aviation is to provide material and high-technology component repairs to StandardAero. |
