Aviation News Item: 06359 16th Mar 2010 TIMCO wins cabin interior work for more than 100 MD-80s Source: ubmaviationnews.com TIMCO Aerosystems has said that "a major global airline" has selected the Greensboro, North Carolina-based cabin interior specialist to reconfigure the passenger cabins of more than 100 MD-80 series aircraft. The fleet programme includes the installation of new galleys, new first class passenger seats with power supply for personal electronic devices (PED), modified overhead bins, and a high density seating layout. Work on the first aircraft is scheduled to begin in mid-June of this year. According to OAG data, there are only two airlines that operate around 100 or more MD-80s: American Airlines and Delta Air Lines. |
