Airbus and JAXA to cooperate on composite research

Source: ubmaviationnews.com

Airbus and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) have signed an agreement to cooperate on composite material research. Two areas already identified are VARTM (vacuum assisted resin transfer moulding) evaluation and NDI (non-destructive inspection) new technology evaluation for composite materials. Once the first cooperation phase is successfully concluded, Airbus and JAXA intend to extend it to other areas. This agreement is the first instance of research cooperation between Airbus and a Japanese aerospace agency.
