Aviation News Item: 00615 24th Jun 2009 BR725 engine receives EASA type certificate Source: ubmaviationnews.com The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has certified the Rolls-Royce BR725 engine. The 16,100lbf (71.6 kN) thrust BR700-725A1-12 is the latest member of the BR700 engine series. Its fan has a diameter of 50in. (127cm) and is made up of 24 titanium fan blades. The engine is to power the first flight of the Gulfstream G650 business jet planned for later this year. The EASA type-certificates are valid throughout the European Union, as well as in Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. |
