Aviation News Item: 00585 2nd Jul 2009 Airbus component factory in China breaks ground Source: ubmaviationnews.com Construction work has begun on an Airbus component factory in Harbin, in China's Heilongjiang province, according to Chinese reports. The 30,000m2 facility is to produce five per cent of the A350 XWB composite airframe as well as parts for the A320-family programme and possible future aircraft developments. Airbus holds a 20 per cent in the $350m JV with Harbin Aircraft Industry Group (50 per cent), Hafei Aviation Industry (10 per cent), Avichina Industry & Technology (10 per cent), and Harbin Development Zone Heli Infrastructure Development (10 per cent). Production work at the factory will begin by the end of 2010. |
