Aviation News Item: 00579 6th Jul 2009 Medallion Air forms seven-year component MRO agreement with Sabena technics Source: ubmaviationnews.com Romanian start-up charter/ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance) wet-lease carrier Medallion Air has signed a seven-year contract with Sabena technics to provide component repair and overhaul services, including pool access for MD-83 aircraft. The Bucharest-based carrier obtained its air operator certificate from the Romanian civil aviation authority (an EASA full member) on May 15, 2009, and performed its first flight on June 7. Currently the airline has signed a short-term wet-lease contract with an European low-cost airline for its single MD-83 aircraft. The company has said it will expand with two more MD-80s by the end of August. |
