Aviation News Item: 00572 8th Jul 2009 FAA and Net-Centric Consortium to plan NextGen transformation Source: ubmaviationnews.com The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium (NCOIC) have formed an agreement to advance the enterprise architecture of NextGen, FAA's national airspace (NAS) transformation programme. The contract has a potential value of approximately $10m and spans five years. NCOIC members will develop "voice of industry" recommendations about applying net-centric standards to the NextGen procurement, as a way to achieve interoperability in the NAS and, potentially, the skies beyond US borders. |
