Aviation News Item: 00567 8th Jul 2009 Primera Air selects ST Aerospace for component support Source: ubmaviationnews.com Icelandic charter carrier Primera Air and ST Aerospace have signed an agreement for a five-year landing gear MRO programme and an eight-year component maintenance-by-the-hour (MB) programme that includes parts exchange, MRO, component engineering services and logistics. The contracts worth $32.5m (SGD47.3m) cover the airline's current fleet of six 737NGs and an additional six aircraft in the future. They supersede the time-and-material component support arrangement currently provided for two of the carrier's MD-80 aircraft. The relationship between the Singapore-based MRO provider and Primera Air dates back to three years ago when the airline was known as JetX and ST Aerospace's mainly Scandinavian subsidiary, STA Solutions, was known as SAS Component. Both companies were subsequently renamed in 2008. |
