The new aircraft saw immediate long-haul flight action. Stationed in Switzerland, it is fully managed by Jet Aviation and operates under its Swiss Air Operators Certificate.
The aircraft offers space for 14 seated day passengers. For night flying, the seating can be adjusted to form five sleeping berths. The ultra-long-range jet has an endurance of close to 14 hours.
"With a G550 based in Switzerland, as well as another G550 in Asia, we are able to offer long-range aircraft to charter customers both in Europe and in Asia," says Martin Bernegger, senior vice president of Jet Aviation's charter division in EMEA & Asia. "This enables us to provide more flexibility to our customers, as we can now combine individual flights and increase our flying capacity in this very important segment," he adds.
The company plans to further expand its charter fleet in March with a Falcon 900EX, to be based in Switzerland.
