Source: ubmaviationnews.com

Bombardier has opened an aircraft maintenance centre in Macon, Georgia to complement its existing sites in Bridgeport, West Virginia, and Tucson, Arizona. The 91,800ft2 (8,530m2) facility was previously owned by Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA), with which the OEM has a 10-year MRO agreement. The Georgia-based carrier has a fleet of 150 CRJ aircraft, including 108 CRJ200, 38 CRJ700 and 10 CRJ900 models, for which Bombardier will provide heavy maintenance services including C checks. The company said it invested approximately $2m in the facility and expects to create an additional 180 jobs over the next year. Bombardier also announced it is to open a service centre for business aircraft in Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
