Aviation News Item: 00526 22nd Jul 2009 OAA to train BA E170/190 pilots Source: ubmaviationnews.com British Airways (BA) and Oxford Aviation Academy (OAA) have signed a five-year training agreement for pilot training and simulator time for the airline's fleet of E170 and E190SR aircraft. Entitlement training for the initial group of BA CityFlyer pilots began this month at the flight school's Gatwick training centre on behalf of Embraer. The academy operates a dual fit E170/190 level D full flight simulator and a ground school facility, which includes CBT stations, FMS trainers and an integrated procedures trainer. The simulator has been specially modified to meet the airline's requirements to undertake steep approaches into London City Airport. BA has firm orders for six E170s and five E190SRs, with options for three more. They will replace the current fleet of nine Avro RJ100 and two RJ85 aircraft. |
