Aviation News Item: 00517 24th Jul 2009 Aveos and OAA cooperate on MRO training Source: ubmaviationnews.com Aveos, the now independent successor company of Air Canada Technical Services, has signed an agreement with UK-based Oxford Aviation Academy (OAA) to jointly market and provide European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 147 aircraft maintenance training to airlines globally. The two companies want to provide both practical and theoretical aircraft maintenance training at OAA's training centres around the world and Aveos' Canadian training centres in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and Winnipeg. Training will also be offered at airlines' operating bases around the world. The agreement covers training on a range of aircraft types including the 737-family, 747, A320-family, A330, A340 and CRJ aircraft. OAA's recently acquired Manchester training centre, which has been providing EASA Part 147 training on BAE Systems 146, RJ, ATP and Jetstream aircraft, will be extended to include 737NG and Embraer E170/190 aircraft. The Oxford-based organisation has facilities in Beijing, Copenhagen, Dublin, Hong Kong, London (Gatwick and Heathrow), Melbourne, Oslo, Oxford, Phoenix, Riga, Shannon, Stockholm and Tokyo. |
