Aviation News Item: 00506 28th Jul 2009 Indra joins European Single Sky R&D programme Source: ubmaviationnews.com Indra, the Spanish IT and defence systems company, has entered the Single European Sky ATM Research Programme (SESAR) to investigate and develop technologies for better air traffic management (ATM) in the European Union. Within the €1.9bn research and development (R&D) initiative, the company is to co-lead two of SESAR's four main technological programmes: air traffic control and airport operation management. It will also participate in two other programmes: communications systems, navigation and air traffic surveillance, as well as in the creation of the future ATM intranet. SESAR is planned to run until 2016. ($1 = €0.70) |
