Aviation News Item: 00504 29th Jul 2009 AWAS signs $77m deal with Honeywell Source: ubmaviationnews.com Dublin-based aircraft leasing company AWAS has signed a $77m deal with Honeywell to provide avionics and APUs for 75 A320-family aircraft to be delivered from 2011, and for 12 A330 aircraft to be delivered beginning in 2009. Additionally, the US manufacturer has been selected as the baseline provider of avionics for 31 737 aircraft with first delivery in 2011. The avionics suite includes: 3-D weather radar 'IntuVu'; enhanced ground proximity warning system (EGPWS); airborne collision avoidance system (ACAS II) with ADS-B and Mode S; communication and navigation equipment (CNS); air data inertial reference system (ADIRS); aircraft communications addressing and reporting system (ACARS); emergency locator transmitters (ELTs); solid state flight data and cockpit voice recorders; and the flight management system (FMS). |
