MTU Aero Engines and GE Aviation have formed an agreement to develop new component repairs for GE civil and military engines. The 10-year transatlantic cooperation will not be restricted to specific engine types, nor to specific engine assemblies of the US OEM. "This is the first agreement of this type that we have signed with one of the OEMs," said Dr. Stefan Weingartner, MTU's president and CEO commercial maintenance. The repair procedures are to be jointly developed, approved as OEM repairs and marketed by GE.
