Aviation News Item: 00497 30th Jul 2009 Aircell ships first SwiftBroadband system Source: ubmaviationnews.com Aircell's 'SwiftBroadband' solution has been certified and customer shipments have begun. The Denver-based airborne communications provider says the first installation is being completed by 328 Support Services near Munich, Germany, aboard an executive Dornier 328JET operated by Aviando Services in Venezuela. The IT system allows passengers to use their personal laptops and smartphones for e-mail and 'light' Internet services in flight. |
