Aviation News Item: 00485 4th Aug 2009 Skyguide and Croatia Control to use Linux G5-based ARTAS Source: ubmaviationnews.com The air navigation service providers skyguide in Geneva and Wangen, Switzerland, and Croatia Control in Zagreb have changed their ARTAS systems architecture to include baseline Linux G5 hardware. The equipment was implemented by the German air traffic control (ATC) technology provider Comsoft. ARTAS was developed as an industry project on behalf of Eurocontrol, the European organisation for safety of air navigation. Today the system is operational in more than 20 ATC centres throughout Europe with the potential of installations outside Europe to follow. |
