Aviation News Item: 00475 6th Aug 2009 EADS forms Japan subsidiary Source: ubmaviationnews.com EADS has established a subsidiary in Japan to strengthen its presence in the country and forge long-term business relationships with Japanese industry and aerospace institutions. The group currently buys directly, or indirectly, through its first tier suppliers, products worth approximately $1bn annually in the country. Its Eurocopter subsidiary has more than a 50 per cent share of the civilian helicopter market, according to the consortium. Vincent Larnicol was appointed president of EADS Japan in May 2009, having formerly been the general delegate of the firm's Libyan subsidiary. He previously worked for five years for one of Japan's leading trading houses, Nissho Iwai Corporation - now known as Sojitz - in both Tokyo and Paris. |
