SuperJet International, the marketing, customisation and support company for Sukhoi's Superjet 100, has received from the Italian aeronautical civil authority (ENAC) EASA Part 147 certification. The approval allows the Venice-based company to organise and hold training courses for technical maintenance staff. It will also apply for the same recognition from the Russian aviation authority, Rosaviatsiya, with the intention of obtaining the Russian certification for the training centre. Courses are anticipated to begin in October 2009 but, similarly to Part 145, the Part 147 certificate will be initially used on A320-family aircraft. This type represents, in terms of technology, the most similar characteristics to the Russian regional jet, according to the company.
