Aviation News Item: 00456 12th Aug 2009 Three Twenty Holdings selects Rockwell Collins avionics for 25 A320s Source: ubmaviationnews.com Three Twenty Holdings has selected Rockwell Collins avionics for 25 new A320 aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in September 2009 and last through 2015. The package includes the 'MultiScan' hazard detection radar system, which analyses and determines actual weather hazards, not simply atmospheric moisture content. Also selected was the GLU-920 multi-mode receiver (MMR), a unit that provides the aircraft's primary position, velocity and time reference and enables precision landing capability. The MMR also offers instrument landing system capability and satellite-based positioning for navigation and future landing functions. The system could support microwave landing system capabilities and is designed to meet future air traffic management requirements while offering commonality across fleet types. |
