Aviation News Item: 00453 12th Aug 2009 Cargoitalia to employ Lufthansa Systems solutions Source: ubmaviationnews.com Cargoitalia has signed five-year contracts with Lufthansa Systems to provide 'Lido RouteManual' navigation charts and flight management system (FMS) data. The Italian cargo carrier also opted for 'Lido Topas' and 'Lido Landing Performance', the IT provider's solutions for performance data analysis. The optimal takeoff data depend on numerous variables, including takeoff weight, runway length, engine out standard instrument departures (EOSIDs), obstacles around airports and the weather conditions. Until the Italian civil aviation authority ENAC approves the sole use of the 'Lido Topas' solutions on board, Lufthansa Systems will also provide the airline with runway weight charts. |
