Aviation News Item: 00423 20th Aug 2009 easyJet A320 diverts to La Rochelle Source: ubmaviationnews.com An easyJet A320, en route from London Gatwick to Faro, Portugal, diverted to La Rochelle airport in France yesterday, August 19, due to a smell of burning in the cabin. The aircraft, with 165 passengers and six crew on-board, landed safely at La Rochelle at around 10.30am local time (08.30am GMT). Firefighters inspected the aircraft with a heat-sensitive camera, but could not detect any source for the smell of burning. The passengers continued their journey to Faro on a replacement aircraft in the afternoon. |
