Aviation News Item: 00418 20th Aug 2009 MAE takes over Transmile's MRO unit Source: ubmaviationnews.com MAS Aerospace Engineering (MAE), the MRO division of Malaysia Airlines, has signed a MoU with Subang-based cargo carrier Transmile Group to take over its engineering and base maintenance unit, including two hangars, equipment and employment of its skilled manpower. Under the new ownership, the Subang facility will continue to provide heavy maintenance for the Transmile's fleet of 16 freighters. MAE said it would become the largest airframe MRO provider in Asia-Pacific through the deal, aiming to generate MYR500m ($141.7m) in revenue this year. |
