Aviation News Item: 00391 27th Aug 2009 HP to develop new IT system for American Source: ubmaviationnews.com American Airlines has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Hewlett-Packard to develop a new system for handling reservations, pricing and other functions. The carrier's parent company AMR Corporation said that once the negotiations are final, the changeover to a new passenger-services system would take four or five years. The terms have not yet been disclosed. Monte Ford, the airline's CIO, said that the improvements would be phased in based on what the company can afford. |
