BASIL BARIMO TO LEAD NORDAM'S GLOBAL ENGINEERING/QUALITY PROGRAMS

NORDAM Repair Group has announced Basil Barimo as its new vice president of global engineering and quality. Barimo reports to Meredith Siegfried, chief operating officer of NORDAM's Repair Group. "Basil is a significant asset to our team, with the experience and talent to lead our global engineering and quality strategic initiatives," said Siegfried. "He is well recognized in the industry with strong relationships among NORDAM's commercial airline customers and a sincere commitment to the aerospace industry." Barimo joins NORDAM after six years with Air Transport Association of America where he most recently served as vice president of operations and safety. He was responsible for leading the organization in shaping government regulatory policies critical to the industry's success. Prior to that, Barimo held a variety of executive positions in operations, engineering and quality with Avborne , US Airways, and McDonnell Douglas. "During his 20-year aviation career, Basil has demonstrated a strong and consistent record for driving cross-functional success, strategic vision and planning, developing and empowering leaders, and increasing profitability," said Siegfried. Barimo is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, with a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering. He has served on a variety of boards and committees including the RTCA Policy Board, DOT Secretary Task Force for Extended Delays, FAA REDAC Safety Committee, Aviation Accreditation International Board and chaired the ADS-B Aviation Rulemaking Committee.
