PAS Technologies and MTU Aero Engines have signed a MoU whereby the Kansas, Missouri-based company is to market MTU's 'ERCoatnt' in north and south America for military turbine applications. Under the two-year agreement, PAS Technologies is to act as exclusive sales consultant for the product to the US military and the Department of Defense supply chain. 'ERCoatnt' is an erosion-inhibiting coating to protect engine aerofoils from premature loss of material. The coating is applied by physical vapor deposition (PVD), is characterised by a multi-layer structure and a special patented chemical composition.
