Airbus has chosen Everspin Technologies, a manufacturer of magnetic-based memory (MRAM) and magnetic sensors based in Arizona, to supply 4Mb and 16Mb MRAM products for the flight control computer on the A350 XWB. The technology will replace previously used static random access memory (SRAM) and flash components with a single non-volatile read/write memory that promises faster speeds, unlimited write cycles and easier software updates.
