Aviation News Item: 00322 16th Sep 2009 Cabin air system launched by BAE Source: ubmaviationnews.com BAE Systems and Quest International UK have announced the launch of a new active air management system, 'AirManager'. The system uses Close Coupled Field Technology (CCFT), a contained and safe electrical field that eliminates smells, and breaks down and destroys airborne pathogens, contaminants and toxins. BAE Systems will install AirManager onto its own BAe 146/Avro RJ airliners, while an agreement with Quest will bring the technology to the wider aviation market. Under this agreement, BAE Systems will act as an authorised distributor of the system for worldwide sales to airlines, for an initial period of five years. A trial unit is currently being evaluated for installation on 757s. |
