Aviation News Item: 00308 21st Sep 2009 LH 747 returns to Frankfurt after oil leak Source: ubmaviationnews.com A Lufthansa (LH) 747 en route from Frankfurt/Main to New York returned to Frankfurt about three hours after takeoff on Saturday, September 19, after the flight crew noticed an engine oil leak in one of the CF6 engines. The incident happened approximately 1.5 hours into the transatlantic crossing. The aircraft landed safely in Frankfurt after approximately 6.5 hours flight time, and the 330 passengers were transferred to another 747. |
