Aviation News Item: 00299 23rd Sep 2009 Vietnam Airlines signs engine and APU overhauls contract with LHT Source: ubmaviationnews.com Vietnam Airlines has inked a contract with Lufthansa Technik (LHT) to provide maintenance and overhauls for turboprop engines of the airline's ATR72-fleet. The three-year-contract covers the PW124 engine subtype powering the airline's seven ATR72-200s as well as the PW127 subtype to be used on up to 16 ATR72-500s. The Asian carrier also extended an existing contract for the maintenance and overhaul of Hamilton Sundstrand APS3200 APUs used in its A321s for another year until mid 2010. The turboprop engine services will be carried out by Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey and the APU overhauls will be provided by the MRO provider's facility in Hamburg. |
