Aviation News Item: 00284 25th Sep 2009 China Eastern and P&W open engine maintenance JV Source: ubmaviationnews.com China Eastern Airlines and Pratt & Whitney (P&W) have opened their JV named Shanghai Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Engine Maintenance Company yesterday, September 24. The Chinese airline takes a 51 per cent stake in the business, which was set up with total investment of approximately $99m, and the US OEM takes the rest. The company aims to service 150 engines in a year, with the sales value reaching CNY1.5bn ($219.7m). Over the next three years, it expects to maintain 300 units annually, and sales to reach CNY3bn ($440m). |
