Aviation News Item: 00283 25th Sep 2009 Boeing starts installation of 787 structural modification Source: ubmaviationnews.com Boeing has started installing the structural reinforcement for the 787 wing-body-joint issue, which caused the last programme delay and planned first flight in June, Randy Tinseth, VP marketing for the OEM's commercial aircraft division, indicated on the company's Boeingblogs.com website on Wednesday (September 23). The modification is currently being installed on the prototype ZA001 and the static test airframe. Work on other test aircraft are to follow "in the coming days". The installation of the actual reinforcement structure will take approximately 30 days according to reports. |
