Aviation News Item: 00279 28th Sep 2009 Naverus receives FAA approval to design public-use RNP Source: ubmaviationnews.com The FAA has approved Naverus, a Seattle-headquartered provider of performance-based navigation (PBN) solutions, to design and validate required navigation performance (RNP) flight paths for public use in the US. Optimised PBN approach procedures, which promise fuel savings and emissions reductions, are at the core of FAA's NextGen airspace modernisation effort in the US. The approval is the result of more than two years of collaboration between the company and the FAA to develop new rules, processes and oversight mechanisms. |
