Aviation News Item: 00260 2nd Oct 2009 Azul signs $1bn 'OnPoint' CF34 maintenance agreement with GE Source: ubmaviationnews.com Azul Linhas Aereas Brasileiras has signed a 15-year 'OnPoint' agreement with GE to provide MRO services of CF34-10E engines that power the airline's 36 ordered and four leased Embraer E190/195 aircraft. The agreement is valued at nearly $1bn over the life of the agreement. The work will be performed at the GE Celma facility in Petropolis, Brazil. The carrier expects to have 14 E190/195 aircraft in service by year-end with seven additional aircraft scheduled for delivery in 2010. |
