Aviation News Item: 00225 14th Oct 2009 Japan joins ASPIRE partnership Source: ubmaviationnews.com Japan has become a partner in the Asia and Pacific Initiative to Reduce Emissions (ASPIRE), which is designed to make aircraft operations in the region more efficient in order to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. Ryuhei Maeda, the director general of the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB), signed the agreement with Randy Babbitt, the FAA's administrator, in Osaka yesterday, October 13. The initiative founded in February 2008 includes the FAA, Airservices Australia and Airways New Zealand. |
