Aviation News Item: 00210 19th Oct 2009 Middle East carriers deploy SITA's emissions manager tool Source: ubmaviationnews.com SITA, the Geneva-based air transport IT company, has said that 12 airline members of the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) will be the first to deploy its aircraft emissions manager tool. The program to measure and report carbon emissions and fuel burn in tonne kilometres will be deployed next month in compliance with the EU's emission trading scheme (ETS) for the aviation industry. The carriers are: Afriqiyah Airways, EgyptAir Holding Company (which includes EgyptAir Airlines, EgyptAir Express and EgyptAir Cargo), Jordan Aviation, Kuwait Airways, Libyan Airlines, Middle East Airlines, Oman Air, Royal Jordanian, Syrian Arab Airways and Yemen Airways. |
